Children’s Developmental Services

Developmental Services consist of trained, qualified and energetic individuals providing the highest levels of services in the areas of Habilitative Intervention, Habilitative Support, and Respite Care. These services are offered to children with special needs to help them reduce maladaptive behaviors, improve developmental skills, and thrive in social environments. We commonly work with children with diagnoses in Autism, Down Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Delay as well as others. While some insurances will cover these services, Medicaid is the primary payee for most of our clients.

Habilitative Intervention (HI)

HI is a service that is for children ages 3-18, with developmental disabilities who display challenging behaviors. Our therapists will work with children to develop positive behaviors and the skills they need to function in typical home and community environments. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques are individualized and comprehensive and used on a short-term, one-on-one basis. It has been shown to be effective and produce measureable outcomes. ABA techniques help diminish behaviors that interfere with development, use of language and appropriate social skills which broaden an otherwise severely restricted range of interest.

Habilitative Support (HS)

HS is service for children, ages 3-18, with developmental delays who need to grow their social and developmental skills. Our therapists will provide one-on-one therapy in the home and community to teach them daily life skills. These skills include: safety, social skills, receptive language, independent living skills, hygiene (if needed), gross and fine motor skills and more.

Respite Care

Respite services for children provide in-home and at-center care with one of our providers. Our therapists are background checked, CPR and First Aid certified, and are supervised by a bachelor’s level staff member who is also HI certified.
